You need this four-digit code to enable the SIM card once you have inserted it into your phone, to be able to access your operator's mobile network. Here are the steps for setting up a SIM PIN lock. When you buy a SIM card, you also receive a PIN for it. Make sure you write this SIM PIN down somewhere safe that you can easily access.
If you’re interested, you can set up a SIM PIN by going to Settings > Cellular > SIM PIN. When the other two SIM cards finally arrived, I put them in my safe so I have them just in case I run into any more bullshit like what happened with this situation. The PIN is an acronym for Personal Identification Number and represents an access code made of four digits. It can prevent people from just popping out your SIM card, placing it into a device that they have on hand, and using your cellular line to make calls and texts. It takes a little while for the sim card to activate and you HAVE to call the activation team to do it, but it works. I called them and asked what gives, so they sent me ANOTHER one… which I responded by going to a nearby retail location and they have them in stock. I made the mistake of allowing them to ship me one and the first one was supposed to arrive in two days, I waited over a week and it still didn’t come. Enter a new SIM PIN, and make sure that you remember it. Input your current SIM PIN if it was enabled before. They have to “send” you a new SIM card, except don’t listen to the rep bc they will likely try to tell you they HAVE to send it when they actually keep SIM cards in stock at your local spectrum retail store. I work for the company and I searched high and low for this default pin and they keep that information very well hidden. They don’t have access to that info and no one knows why.
